Can AI read your site? You get an AI readiness score, SEO health and security scores, and a preview of what's getting in the way. Free, about a minute, no account.

  • An AI readiness score out of 100, with SEO health and security scores
  • Up to six of your most important pages, found through your sitemap and navigation
  • Your top fixes, with the change to paste in for your platform

We check your rules for 22 AI crawlers, including GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, and visit your site as six of them to see what they get.

So we can send you the link.

What you get

Three scores and the fixes that matter most

Your result has its own page, and we email you the link.

  • AI readiness score

Out of 100, across five areas: can AI read your site, make sense of it, find answers in it, trust it, and load it.

  • SEO health score

The same pages weighed the way a search engine weighs them: titles, headings, canonicals, sitemaps, links and speed.

  • Security score

HTTPS, security headers, mixed content and cookie settings, scored on their own.

  • Quick wins

Up to three fixes that each take under half an hour, ranked by how much they help.

  • Two fixes in full

The exact change to make, written for your platform, such as Vercel, Nginx, Apache or Cloudflare, ready to copy.

  • The biggest issue in each area

Named for every area we score, with a count of the rest.

How it works

We visit your site the way AI assistants do

No installation and no access to your site. About a minute.

  1. We pick your pages

Up to six, starting with the ones that sell: pricing, services and products, then articles and FAQs.

  2. We visit as the assistants do

We read your robots.txt and your host's bot rules, fetch pages as the AI assistants' own crawlers, and look at what's in the HTML before any JavaScript runs.

  3. We score and rank the fixes

64 checks weighted into three scores, with the fixes ranked by how much they move the score for the time they take.

What we check

64 checks in six areas

The same areas the result page scores, in the same order. The full audit adds four more SEO checks and reads your copy with AI.

Can they read it

Whether AI assistants are allowed in and can see your content.

  • AI crawler rules in robots.txt
  • Blocks added by your CDN or host
  • What AI assistants get when they visit
  • Text that only appears after JavaScript runs
  • noindex and similar hidden instructions
  • Status codes, HTTPS and redirects
  • Pop-ups covering the content
  • llms.txt, reported but not scored

Can they make sense of it

Whether each page says clearly what it is and who it's from.

  • Structured data, including Organization schema
  • One H1 and a clean heading order
  • A canonical address
  • A sitemap
  • Title and meta description
  • Language and hreflang
  • Link text and broken internal links

Is it an answer

Whether your pages answer the questions people ask.

  • Question coverage
  • Facts an assistant can lift, like prices and specs
  • Depth
  • In the full audit: each passage read and marked by AI

Would they trust it

Signals that you are who you say you are.

  • Reviews and ratings
  • Profiles linked with sameAs
  • Named authors
  • How recently pages changed
  • Original data
  • Mentions across the web

Does it load properly

Whether pages arrive quickly and work on a phone.

  • Server response time
  • Page weight and compression
  • Caching
  • Image sizes and alt text
  • Mobile viewport

Security

Scored on its own, as the security score.

  • HTTPS and the certificate
  • Mixed content
  • HSTS, CSP and other security headers
  • Protection against clickjacking
  • Cookie settings
  • Server details on show

Reading your score

What the scores mean

All three scores use the same bands. The free check doesn't read your copy with AI, so where that matters it shows the range your score could land in once the copy is marked.

  • 90+Excellent

Little in the way. Keep it there as the site changes.

  • 75–89Good

AI can use your site. A few fixes would make it easier.

  • 60–74Needs work

Some pages are hard for AI to reach or use. The fixes are usually quick.

  • 40–59Poor

Big gaps in access, structure or trust. Start with the quick wins.

  • Under 40Critical

AI assistants may not be able to use your site at all.

How to improve it

The fixes we see most

Most sites lose points in the same few places.

  • Let the right AI crawlers in

Blocking a training crawler like GPTBot is your call. Blocking the ones that fetch pages for answers, like OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User or PerplexityBot, keeps you out of those answers. Check robots.txt and your CDN's bot settings.

  • Put the text in the HTML

If your content only appears after JavaScript runs, many AI crawlers see an empty page. Render it on the server.

  • Say who you are

Add Organization schema, link your profiles with sameAs, and use the same name and description everywhere.

  • Answer the question first

Open each page with the answer, then the detail. Use headings that match the questions people ask.

  • Keep one address per page

Canonical tags, redirects that go straight to the final page, and a sitemap that lists the pages you want found.

  • Add the security headers

    HSTS, a Content-Security-Policy, X-Content-Type-Options and a Referrer-Policy. Most are a line or two in your host's config.

Questions

About the AI Readiness Checker

Anything else, write to support@cleotic.ai.

Is the AI readiness checker free?

Yes. No account and no charge. We ask for an email to send you the link to your result.

What is AI readiness?

How easily AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity can reach your site, read it, understand it and quote it. It's the groundwork for being named in their answers.

Does it check whether GPTBot or ChatGPT is blocked?

Yes. We read your robots.txt rules for 22 AI crawlers and assistants and visit your site as six of them, including ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot. Blocking a training crawler like GPTBot doesn't cost you points. Blocking the ones that fetch pages for answers does.

Does it check llms.txt?

It reports whether you have one. It doesn't change your score.

Is this a technical SEO audit?

Partly. The SEO health score covers titles, headings, canonicals, sitemaps, structured data, links and page weight across up to six pages. The full audit in Cleotic reads up to 250.

Why is my score shown as a range?

The free check counts headings, facts and length but doesn't read your copy with AI. Three checks need that, so we show where your score could land once they're marked.

Why do some checks say not measured?

Some checks need a page rendered in a browser, such as how fast the largest element appears. The free check doesn't render pages, so those checks are left out of the score instead of guessed.

How often can I run it?

Up to five checks an hour for each website.

How is this different from Cleotic?

The free check reads six pages once. Cleotic reads up to 250 every week, marks your copy with AI, shows every issue with its evidence and fix, and tracks what AI assistants say about your brand.
